About the event
In this full day event, Rosemary and Laura will facilitate an engaging and practical workshop on how to use the Language Express Toolkit in early childhood classrooms or small group intervention settings.
Suitable for early childhood classroom teachers, education assistants or EAL/D teachers working within an intervention setting, this session will strike a careful balance between theory and practice to address the following:
- Background and theory: The what and the why of oral language, with links to reading, writing and social emotional success.
- Approaches and techniques: With a focus on vocabulary and semantics, syntax and morphology, listening comprehension, phonological awareness and early storytelling, participants will learn about and practise a range of evidence-based instructional techniques suitable for typically developing students and students with language differences, difficulties and disorders.
- Planning and design: With guided support from Rosemary and Laura, participants will plan how they can implement effective oral language instruction using the Language Express toolkit.
Cost: $195 per person (lunch and morning tea provided)
Spaces limited.
Please note: This event is suitable for schools and teachers who already have the Language Express Toolkit and for schools or teachers who would like to find out more about the approach.
